SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is urging organisations and businesses to apply for funding for their community projects.

Mr Rowlands, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance was commenting after Wrexham County Borough Council invited organisations to apply for a share of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

He said: “I am pleased that Wrexham County Borough Council are continuing offer support to local initiatives through the Shared Prosperity Fund, and I would encourage communities to apply for funding for what they see as their priorities.

“It is people and organisations living in our communities who know what is needed for their areas and that is why it is vital that they are listened to.

“Here in Wrexham we have already seen the benefits of the Shared Prosperity Fund and it would be great to see many more projects receiving funding.

“I would urge anyone with a particular community project in mind to make sure they submit an application.”

The Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda which aims to build pride in place and increase life chances.

All projects submitted must seek at least £50,000 up to a maximum of £700,000 of Shared Prosperity Funding.

Most of the money will be distributed through grants to support organisations to deliver projects which will make a real difference in local communities.
