SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is backing a community gardening initiative.
Mr Rowlands, a keen supporter of encouraging people to take part in outdoor activities, is urging residents to take up the opportunity to brush up on their garden skills in Rhos and Gwersyllt this month.
He said: “This is a fantastic initiative which not only helps people to learn more about gardening but encourages them to get outdoors in the fresh air and meet others in the community.
“I am a great fan of organisations like Incredible Edible as they really do encourage everyone to get involved by growing your own food and sharing it within the community.
“I would urge anyone wanting to meet likeminded people and brush up on their gardening skills to sign up for the workshops.”
Incredible Edible is part of a community gardening initiative that grows free food to share locally. The group also provides free plants, seeds, tips, and workshops to help people grow their own food at home, in workplaces, and within communities. Promoting sustainability and a gift economy, Incredible Edible Wrecsam encourages a thriving, collaborative approach to community growing and local food production.
The free workshops are being held in the Incredible Edible Community Growing Spaces in Rhos and Gwersyllt.
