Ysgol Morgan Llwyd representing Wrexham and Wales at the World Cup

Two students and a teacher from Welsh speaking school Ysgol Morgan Llwyd will be at the World Cup in Qatar, as part of the hosts Goal 22 Programme.

Nicole Samson (who works part time in the Club Shop), Iwan Phillips and teacher Josh Hughes will join representatives from the other 31 nations competing in the World Cup.

Strategic Advisor to Board, Shaun Harvey, facilitated the invite for the Wrexham school, to ensure that the Club’s off-field community activity is given the opportunity to showcase itself on the world stage, not just in Wrexham.

Goal 22 is a pioneering, year-long cultural exchange program to ensure a lasting legacy for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, taking students on a ‘Sport for Development’ journey, providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness one of the world’s greatest sporting events.

Goal 22 is organised by The Generation Amazing Foundation that was launched in 2010 during Qatar’s successful bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. For more information on Generation Amazing visit www.generationamazing.qa
