FUNDING from Council and Sport Wales has supported the extensive refurbishments of the changing facilities at Halo’s Pencoed Swimming Pool, benefitting the local and wider community.
The £200k investment, which stems from a partnership between Halo, Bridgend County Borough Council, together with Council and Sport Wales, has delivered new cubicles, showers and vanity units. The changing room improvements also include brighter surroundings, complete with LED lighting and environmentally friendly ceiling tiles – all reflecting Halo’s commitment to sustainability and customer satisfaction.
Simon Gwynne, Halo Leisure Partnership Manager, said: “The facilities at Halo’s Pencoed Swimming Pool are much loved and used by the local community, but the changing rooms have been looking particularly tired.
“All visitors to the building will now benefit – from people attending family swimming, groups involved in the aqua fitness classes, those participating in social swimming and the ladies only swimming sessions, the 800 plus children signed up for swimming lessons, right through to people working out in the gym.”
Leader of Bridgend County Borough Council, Cllr John Spanswick, said: “We are so very grateful for the significant investment offered by Council and Sport Wales, allowing our partners at Halo to provide the best facilities possible to those residents using Pencoed Pool.
“The much-needed improvements have transformed the changing rooms, offering a high-quality experience to the community; the benefits of this investment will continue for a long while to come.”
