A LOCAL community council in Bridgend has launched a consultation this month over plans to develop a local community park with a new splash pad and skate park.
The proposals put forward by Laleston Community Council will ask residents for their opinions on what it is calling the Bryntirion Community Park Masterplan, for the park based on Llangewydd Road, Bridgend.
Designs within the draft plans currently include a new splash pad water play area in the north west of the park, along with a new outdoor gym, memorial garden, and skate park near the centre of the site.
It also includes a new forest garden near the community hub which could be used for outdoor teaching, along with new paths, seating and ornamental flower beds with an attenuation pond for better drainage.
The consultation is now live for members of the public to engage with and reads: “The design looks to create an exciting and attractive public park with new paths, seating and ornamental flower beds that sit alongside new play areas, a skate park and an outdoor gym, encouraging all generations of the community to enjoy the space together.”
