Castle Dairies Welsh spreadable butter returns to Aldi by popular demand

THIS MAY 2024, supermarket chain Aldi joined other Welsh retailers, including Waitrose, M&S, Tesco, Lidl and Asda by stocking award-winning and locally made Castle Dairies Welsh Spreadable Butter (500g) in 32 of their stores across Wales.

Castle Dairies is a family run business and has been churning cream for over 50 years. Castle Dairies is thrilled to announce the return of its Welsh Spreadable Butter to Aldi stores across Wales after receiving overwhelming customer demand.

“We are excited to bring back our beloved Welsh Spreadable butter to Aldi shoppers in Wales,” said Nicola Pretty, Head of Brand and Development at Castle Dairies. “This partnership allows us to share our passion for quality and tradition with a broader audience, offering a taste of Wales to kitchens across the country.”

A much sought after traditional salted Welsh spreadable, which contains Welsh butter, is made from only the finest natural ingredients. Welsh Cream is carefully churned, and hand salted to produce a sumptuously creamy and well-balanced salty spreadable butter that spreads straight from the fridge. Castle Dairies are delighted that this product will be more widely available for their loyal customers across Wales, as well as providing Welsh customers with more opportunities to enjoy high quality, locally sourced produce, made and grown here in Wales.

It was awarded a 1-star Great Taste Award in 2022, a highly commendable and competitive award. Comments from judges included, “Creamy and spreadable. We thought that this was a great example of a spreadable butter. Creamy and salty with a lasting taste on the palate. Clean finish.”

The return of Castle Dairies’ butter to Aldi highlights the brand’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. This move reinforces the company’s dedication to its mission to deliver the best Welsh dairy products to consumers.
