COUNCIL planners have granted permission for a house in Blackwood to be converted into a children’s home.

Plans show the home will accommodate up to four children, who will each have their own bedroom.

The property will also include facilities such as a kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, as well as an office for staff.

In a statement to Caerphilly County Borough Council, applicant Oaklee Construction Ltd said the home will have sensory spaces and break out rooms “to ensure that the children lead full and active lives both in and out of the home”.

No neighbours objected to the plans during a recent consultation period.

Planning officers said the plan to change the use of the building was “acceptable” and would not have an impact on neighbours or on road safety.

They approved the application subject to several conditions, including around designs for a parking and bin storage area.
