CARDIFF Airport teams have raised £5008.50 for British Heart Foundation Cymru.
Between July 2023 and June 2024, a charity quiz night and online raffle were organised by Airport colleagues, while some stomped through the ‘Steptember’ challenge.
The team also raised funds through other Christmas raffles, staff donations and passengers donated foreign and sterling cash in our money globes and money spinners.
British Heart Foundation Cymru also delivered RevivR CPR training to Airport colleagues and customers, as part of AirportsUK’s annual Health and Safety Week.
Lisa Morgan, Chair of Cardiff Airport’s Touchdown Charity Committee, said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to partner with British Heart Foundation Cymru this year.
“The charity provides crucial support to people living with heart and circulatory disease in Wales and is of course close to the hearts of many of the team at Cardiff Airport.
“Thanks to our teams fantastic efforts, we are thrilled to have raised over £5,000 for such a wonderful charity!”
Sarah Austin, Regional Fundraising Manager at British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru, said: “It was great to spend the morning with the team at Cardiff Airport and discuss their incredible efforts in raising more than £5,000 for BHF Cymru.
“In Wales, there are around 340,000 people living with heart and circulatory disease, and the fundraising efforts of Cardiff Airport will help us get a step closer to our vision of a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory disease.
“Thank you for choosing BHF Cymru as your charity partner for the year.”
