A collision on the M4 this afternoon has led to significant delays for drivers, particularly on the eastbound section of the motorway between junction 32, Coryton, and junction 30, Cardiff Gate. The incident, which involved a car overturning, has prompted a swift response from South Wales Police, who are currently on the scene.
As a result of the crash, traffic in the area has come to a standstill, causing heavy congestion. Motorists are experiencing delays stretching as far back as junction 33, Cardiff West and Services. The congestion is exacerbated by onlookers slowing down to observe the incident on the opposite side of the motorway.
At 15:56, it was reported that while traffic has begun to move, it is doing so at a sluggish pace due to the closure of one lane. Police remain at the scene, and cones have been placed on the road to manage the flow of vehicles.
