Man charged with attempted murder following North Road incident

A MAN has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in the North Road area of Cathays, Cardiff on Tuesday, March 28.

Christopher Elgifari, 31, from Llanrumney, was remanded into custody and appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 31, where no plea was entered to the charge.

A plea and trial preparation hearing has been set for today (Apr 3) at Cardiff Crown Court.

A 54-year-old man remains in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

His family has been updated, and they continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Detectives are continuing with witness, house to house and CCTV enquiries.
