LLANDAFF Cathedral hosted a St David’s Day concert as part of the 80th anniversary of international development agency Christian Aid.
Poets and musicians took part, with a reading of a poem by former Archbishop Dr Rowan Williams, and performances from youngsters from Llandaff City Primary School.
Head of Christian Aid Cymru, Mari McNeill, said: “It was a wonderful event and our thanks go to the school children, to poets Angela Graham and Sion Aled Owen, and to Tongwynlais Temperance Band and Côr Caerdydd for the music.

“We are also grateful to Bishop Mary Stallard and Dean Jason Bray for their hospitality at the cathedral, to Christian Aid CEO Patrick Watt for his inspiring message, and to Rev Andrew Sully for his vision in bringing this event together, alongside the team of volunteers at the Cathedral.
“For 80 years, Wales’ churches and communities have been doing the small things. This was a fantastic moment where we brought so many people together to celebrate the small things and the big things which demonstrate the unstoppable power of hope towards a world free from the injustice of poverty.”

Donations were made to the work of Christian Aid’s partners in vulnerable communities around the world, with the total raised coming to £1,605.82.
