Two men jailed for multiple theft offences

CARDIFF man Georgie Norris, 38, and Andrew Powell, aged 43 from Rhondda Cynon Taff, were sentenced collectively to four and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to theft offences in court.

They appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday 2 May where Norris plead guilty to four counts of theft and one count of dangerous driving while Powell plead guilty to two counts of theft.

Georgie Norris was sentenced to 38 months in prison and was disqualified from driving for four years and seven months.

Andrew Powell was sentenced to 16 months in prison for his offences.

Detective Constable Chris Fairclough, the officer in the case, said: “Georgie Norris and Andrew Powell were involved in the thefts of multiple cars from across Gwent.

“We welcome the sentence imposed on these men and hopefully this acts as a warning against others who are tempted to engage in such criminality, which has such a negative effect on the local community.
