THOSE who attended an illegal wedding reception in Merthyr Tydfil have been fined.
Details of an illegal wedding reception were reportedly shared on snapchat, which lead to those attending being fined.
Police broke up the illegal gathering on Saturday evening (Mar 27) after they were called to an address in the Heolgerrig area of Merthyr Tydfil after receiving reports that guidelines were being ignored.
Current Welsh Government coronavirus guidelines state that wedding and civil partnership ceremonies can go ahead, however receptions are currently forbidden.
On it’s website , the Welsh Government says: “In alert level four receptions are prohibited.”
The ‘stay local’ rule was lifted in Wales on Saturday (Mar 27), meaning residents can travel within Wales, but socialising indoors is still prohibited.
It has not been released how many people attended the reception, however eight people were issued fine by officers who attended the property.
