DETAILS of the Remembrance events taking place in Merthyr Tydfil this year have been revealed.
On Friday, November 8 there are services of remembrance at 10.45am at the Boer War Memorial in Thomastown Park and at 12pm at Kaysor Bonder, Mayphil Industries, Dowlais.
Then on Sunday, November 10, there is a remembrance service in Treharris with a 9.30am church service at St Mathias and a 10.30am parade from the church to the war memorial.
At 11am there are services of remembrance in Cefn Coed, Pant – with the parade to set off for the church service at 9.40am – and Troedyrhiw.
At 11.45am there is a service of remembrance in Bedlinog with a parade from the community centre at 11.30am and at 12.30pm there is a service of remembrance in Trelewis with a parade from Bontnewydd at 12.15pm.
One service has already happened, a service of remembrance at Aberfan Community Centre on Sunday, November 3.
The only road closures are for Cefn Coed, Pant and Trelewis.
Those who want to attend any of these services should arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled times.
