Cllr Sara Burch returns to Monmouthshire County Council Cabinet

MONMOUTHSHIRE County Council Leader Cllr Mary Ann Brocklesby announced she is bringing Cllr Sara Burch back to the Cabinet to assist the council in implementing its Community and Corporate Plan.

Cllr Burch will be responsible for a wide range of services, including addressing homelessness, promoting active and inclusive travel, countryside access and rights of way, tourism, culture and supporting local food production.

Council Leader, Cllr Brocklesby welcomed Cllr Burch’s return, stating: “I am delighted to welcome back Cllr Burch, having an additional, experienced and capable councillor in our Cabinet will help us deliver on our priorities.”

Cllr Burch had previously resigned from her cabinet role following an ill-judged post on X, which she immediately deleted and apologised for.

Cllr Brocklesby added: “I do not consider this a barrier to her return to a cabinet role, and I look forward to working alongside her again.”

In accepting the new role, Cllr Sara Burch said: “I am excited to start my role as Cabinet Member for Rural Affairs, Housing, and Tourism. I look forward to collaborating with my fellow cabinet members, councillors, and officers to deliver services to our residents.”
