Gwent Police are appealing to drivers who recently used the M48 Severn Bridge to check their dashcams for any footage of missing teenager Joseph Bellamy, 18, who has been missing for more than a week.
Joseph Bellamy was last seen leaving his home in Caldicot between midnight and 1am on December 3. He was later captured on CCTV riding a red pushbike towards the M48 bridge. Joseph is described as being white, approximately six feet tall with mousey hair and blue eyes. On the night of his disappearance, he was wearing light-colored jeans, black high-top Nike trainers, and a black teddy fleece jumper over a black sweatshirt.
In a fresh appeal for information released on Wednesday evening, December 11, more than a week after his disappearance, Gwent Police are urging motorists who travelled on the M48 early on December 3 to check any dashcam footage they may have.
A Gwent Police spokesman said: “We are asking motorists who were travelling on the M48 during the early hours of Tuesday, December 3, to check their dashcam footage as part of our ongoing investigation to locate Joseph. He was last seen leaving his home in Caldicot between midnight and 1am on that date, and was later captured on CCTV at 12:45am riding his bike towards the M48 bridge, where his bike was later found by officers.”
Officers are trying to piece together Joseph’s movements after he was captured on CCTV and are urging anyone who used the M48 bridge between 12:30am and 2am that morning to check their dashcam footage for any sightings of him.
The police spokesman continued, “If you were using the bridge or in the surrounding area and haven’t already done so, please check your CCTV or dashcam footage for any sightings of Joseph. He is described as being white, 6ft tall with mousey hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing light-colored jeans, black mid-top Nike trainers, and a black teddy fleece jumper over a black sweatshirt.”
Anyone with information about Joseph’s whereabouts is asked to call Gwent Police on 101 or send a direct message on social media, quoting log reference 2400400170. Joseph himself is also urged to get in touch with the police.
