Cwmafan climb to fourth after beating Cwmgors

DESPITE a good first half performance from Cwmgors in which they led 10-7 at the interval, the Cherries were ultimately undone, sinking  to another loss on their trip to Cwmafan, and still lie next to bottom of the Division 3 West Central table, as Cwmafan climb to fourth.

The visitors made another positive start to the game, and scored the first try of the match when from a quick break from a scrum, Mike Jones went over for the score, which Jordan Smith converted.

Smith soon added a penalty to put his side 10-0 ahead after 15 minutes.

But the home side began to get a real foothold in the game, and scored a try either side of half time after pressure told, to lead 12-10  early in the second half.

A Jordan Smith penalty then regained a one-point lead for the visitors, and Smith was then unfortunate to see another penalty opportunity come back off a post.

The home side finished the stronger though, a third try swinging the lead back in their favour, and a bonus-point try five minutes from time rounded off the home victory.
