LOCAL homecare provider Promedica24 has partnered with Bryncoch Church in Wales Primary School for a special project this holiday season. The Cards for Carers project has been launched to connect pupils with carers across the country.
Bryncoch Church in Wales Primary School pupils aged between 4 and 11 have written over 120 festive cards to Promedica24’s carers across the UK. The youngest children created Christmas trees on the cards with green handprints, which were then decorated with stickers and paint. The older children filled the cards with festive drawings, including Christmas trees, snowmen, and presents. The cards also included a heartfelt message from the pupils, which read “thank you for lending a helping hand”.
Promedica24 also provided the children with an infographic which explained to them what a carer is and provided more information about the initiative and who their cards will be going to. The cards were collected and delivered to Promedica24’s carers all over the country, and recipients were delighted to read the cards.
Julie is one of the carers who received a card from the pupils. She was overjoyed and, upon receiving the card, she commented that it is “really lovely to know someone is thinking of us and appreciates the work we do. This has made me smile.”
Promedica24 helps people maintain their independence and remain in the comfort of their own home by providing a variety of live-in and homecare services, from 24/7 support to hourly and part time care.
Grzegorz Wrzosek, Country Manager at Promedica24, said: “At Promedica24 we know that our people are our greatest asset, and our excellent carers are what makes us stand out.
“We are always thinking about how we can bring a smile to their faces and express our appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
“The cards were all very well received and came as a pleasant surprise to our carers. They loved the colourful drawings and could feel the thought that was put into decorating them.”
Marc Sinnett, Headteacher at Bryncoch Church in Wales Primary School, said: “Our staff and pupils here at Bryncoch Church in Wales Primary were thrilled to be able to take part in this campaign.
“It was an excellent opportunity to teach the children about the care sector and the important work of the dedicated care workers who support people every day.
“The children have been very creative in their card designs and all the teachers and staff are proud of their commitment to this cause.
“We believe in the power of connecting generations and spreading love throughout our community and hope that the warm wishes and kind words from our pupils will bring smiles to their faces and warmth to their hearts.”
