SIONED WILLIAMS MS, Plaid Cymru Member of Senedd for South Wales West, recently met with Ysgol Cwm Brombil’s school Senedd after being invited by pupils to attend their meeting.
The school Senedd was ready with lots of questions, ranging from public and school transport, to the climate crisis, to the cost of the school day.
The pupils also had lots of questions about Ms Williams’ role, including how she got into politics, and were delighted to receive an invite to the Senedd, which they hope to take up in 2025.
Many of the pupils in attendance will be eligible to vote for the first time in the Senedd 2026 elections.
Sioned Williams MS, Plaid Cymru Member of Senedd for South Wales West, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to visit Ysgol Cwm Brombil’s school Senedd on Thursday to talk about the issues that matter to them. The pupils were really engaged with lots of topics over which ‘my’ Senedd has control, such as transport, Wales’ impact on the climate, and issues such as the cost of school uniform.

“I was really pleased to hear that the school has taken steps to remove logos from items such as leggings for sports, to help keep costs down. But it was concerning to hear from members of the school Senedd about how lack of access to school transport can sometimes be a barrier to attending school and create financial hardship for their families.
“I talked about the ways in which they can continue to be active with the political issues that impact them, and I’m looking forward to welcoming them in the Senedd in Cardiff Bay in 2025.”
