TWO men have been taken into custody following an incident on a residential street in Melin, Neath, last night (May 18).
Neighbours on the street filmed the shocking scene where two men, one covered in blood rammed a door open and smashed a window of a property.
The video which has been circulating on social media sites shows the two men – one in a blood stained white t-shirt – rammed their way through a door and threw aplank of wood through the window.
On the video a woman in a dressing gown is seen trying to restrain one of the men on the other side of the road.
The shocking footage shows the incident on the terraced property near to the Cambrian Arms Pub.
South Wales Police have confirmed that two men have been taken into custody following the incident and have urged anybody with footage to refrain from sharing on social media.
A spokesperson said: “We are aware of an incident that happened in Briton Ferry Road in Neath, last night at around 7.40pm. Two men, both 26, are in custody for public order offences and criminal damage.
“We are in possession of video footage and are investigating this. We are asking anyone who may have captured any footage of the incident to not share this online. If anyone witnessed what happened, or knows more about what happened, please contact us quoting reference number 210073846”.
The Welsh Ambulance service also attended the incident, but were later stood down.
A spokesperson said: “We were called on Tuesday, May 18, at approximately 19.49 to reports of an incident involving an altercation between a number of people in Neath.
“We responded with two rapid response vehicles and one emergency ambulance. Our resources were stood down as our services were not required.”
