A 17-YEAR-OLD girl was struck by a van that mounted the pavement in Neath Port Talbot, leaving her with bone fractures.
The incident happened at Bryn Awel in Cimla at around 3:25pm on Monday (Feb 3), when the van veered off the road and collided with the pedestrian. Emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash, and local residents witnessed the shocking scene.
Arrests made
South Wales Police confirmed that the teenager was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident—two 34-year-old men, a 37-year-old man, and a 38-year-old woman, all from Llanelli.
Investigation ongoing
The community has been left shaken by the incident, with police continuing to investigate the circumstances. Officers are appealing for witnesses and any relevant dashcam footage.
A police spokesperson said: “We are conducting a full investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward.”
