A NEWPORT man has been jailed for being concerned in the supply of drugs and dangerous driving.
Callum Kemp, aged 24, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Wednesday 28 June charged with being concerned in the supply of a class B drug (Ketamine) and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.
He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.
Kemp was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment and given a driving ban for two years and eight months. He will also have to pass an extended driving test.
The offences took place on 18 July last year in Cardiff Road, Newport.
PC Solomon Lowe, officer in the case, said: “Kemp put members of the public’s safety at risk by driving his e-bike dangerously on a public road. His dangerous driving included going through a red light and speeding off-road through a park where children were present.
“Officers were able to quickly arrest him following a foot chase through Belle Vue Park.
“The defendant was involved in supplying B drugs in Newport, exploiting vulnerable members of the community to make a financial gain. Drugs have no place in our communities and we’re committed to disrupting any illegal drug activity in our force area.
