Drug dealer jailed for over seven years

VINCENT RICHARDS, 36, appeared at Merthyr Crown Court on Thursday (March 9) where he was sentenced for supplying drugs.

After arresting a suspect as part of a separate investigation, officers seized a phone which contained messages sent from Richards that subsequently linked him to the supply of Class A drugs to Ferndale and surrounding Rhondda areas.

Detectives from the Mid Glamorgan Organised Crime Unit arrested Richards, from Llandough, on February 7, 2023. He was charged and remanded.

He was sentenced to seven years and six months for supplying Class A drugs – crack cocaine and cocaine and Class B drugs – cannabis.

Our officers work tirelessly to keep the area safe for residents, and this case is just one example of how we are tackling drug dealing in the community.

We can, and regularly do, act upon the information provided to us by the public, so please keep it coming.
