ONE of Wales’ leading PR agencies is celebrating a string of client wins and promotions in 2024 — which is no mean feat when 6 in 10 UK PR agencies are facing difficulties.
So far this year, bilingual communications specialists, Equinox has secured seven new contracts including projects with WWF Cymru, Pembrokeshire National Park Authority, Mentera (previously Menter a Busnes), Cyngor Gwynedd & Eryri National Park Authority, ScoutsCymru, National Infrastructure Commission Wales (NICW) and Welsh Government.
Plus, the agency has secured all-important contract extensions with existing clients, including Net Zero Industry Wales, BBC TV Licensing and Fly-tipping Action Wales — marking the agency’s 18th year of working with the latter partnership initiative.
What’s more, after celebrating one year since moving to a new office base at Tramshed Tech in Cardiff, Equinox has grand plans to support the hub’s brand-new Swansea set-up — which will open in the city’s restored Palace Theatre on 07 November.
On 14 November, Equinox will present ‘In the Limelight’ — a free-entry networking event at the Swansea hub. Sponsored by Barclays Eagle Labs, the event will feature public speaking challenges with a spontaneous twist, designed to encourage participation and spark creativity among professionals, students, and creatives alike.
Attendees can sign up to deliver 5-minute talks on any topic they’re passionate about, whether it’s a business idea or a personal hobby. Meanwhile, those up for a challenge can spin the “Wheel of Fortune” — prompting quick-fire presentations on random topics. Free tickets can be reserved here.
Playing a key role in the delivery of Equinox’s strong bilingual communications offer is Dafydd Wyn Orritt, who after joining Equinox straight out of university in 2021, was promoted to Senior Account Executive this summer.
As the agency’s Digital Advertising lead, Dafydd executes high-impact bilingual campaigns on the daily — delivering exceptional results for clients. But that’s not all — Dafydd also supports Equinox’s commitment to developing the next generation of comms superstars through a partnership with Cardiff University’s School of Welsh and School of Journalism, Media and Culture (JOMEC).
Equinox has delivered a range of scholarships and internships through this partnership for more than 10 years — providing work experience that has resulted in full time roles for 70% of the agency’s current work force.
Alongside Dafydd, is new Senior Account Manager, Maisie Wallace. Having joined at the beginning of the year, Maisie has wasted no time in making her mark on existing clients — and has used her B2B expertise to drive opportunities within the sustainability space.
Plus, Maisie has been appointed as Equinox’s team wellbeing lead — ensuring that the agency continues to invest in and support its employees.
Behind this success is Managing Director, Helen Wild, who said: “2024 has marked a new era for Equinox. We’ve benefited enormously from the work we’ve done to redefine the agency during the last year — not only moving into a new creative space at Tramshed Tech, but working with even more clients who share our vision, many of which are household names — from Barratt Homes to STAEDTLER and BBC TV Licensing to WWF Cymru.
“We seek to support campaigns that ‘do good’ for Wales — and the new clients we have onboarded in 2024 reflect that. Indeed, whether we’re supporting Welsh industry on its journey to net zero or highlighting the beauty of our National Parks, we love nothing more than putting sustainable causes into the limelight — to benefit the economy, community and environment of Wales.
“I can’t wait to see what the final quarter of 2024 brings — but if it’s anything like the first half of the year, we are in for an exciting time.”
