Cardiff City and Newport County have announced their EFL Championship and League Two games on the 26th December have been postponed due to positive Covid cases.
They are amongst three teams altogether to have their EFL games cancelled so far, with Northampton Town also having their match against Walsall delayed.
Cardiff were due to face Coventry in their boxing day clash at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Steve Morrison’s side are unable to field a squad due to a Covid-19 outbreak in camp, leaving them without sufficient first team players to field.
It is their second postponed match to date, as their tie against Derby was postponed on Saturday.
The Bluebirds announced: “Following consultation with the EFL, Cardiff City regret to announce that Boxing Day’s fixture with Coventry City has been postponed due to several cases of COVID-19 within the playing squad and staff.
Details in respect of a re-arranged date will follow in due course.
Season Tickets will remain valid for the re-arranged fixture. All match tickets purchased for this game will also remain valid for the rearranged date.”

Newport County were to host Forest Green Rovers in their boxing day tie at Rodney Parade.
The Exiles announced: “Sadly, we announce that our Boxing Day fixture at home to Forest Green Rovers is postponed due to COVID cases in the opposition squad.
Forest Green Rovers informed the EFL that it would be unable to fulfill the fixture at Rodney Parade due to a number of positive COVID-19 cases in their squad.
A rearranged date for the fixture will be confirmed in due course.”
