THE first capacity occasion to return to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium since the pandemic began, has sold-out.

The 74,500-seater ground at the heart of the Welsh capital sees Wales host New Zealand, who visit for the first time in four years, on Saturday, October 30, (17:15hrs) and there won’t be a spare seat in the house.

A week later Wales face the British & Irish Lion-taming South Africans (17:30hrs) with sales for this match already tracking higher than the All Blacks game over the last fortnight, as tickets become more and more sparse for the whole Autumn Nations Series.

Fiji, on Sunday, November 14 (15:15hrs), currently has the most availability, but this game is also in high demand.

The fixture sold-out the last time it was played in Cardiff – the 2015 Rugby World Cup – and remaining prices for the match mean a family of four can attend for just £60 (price based on a Category C ticket, with Categories D and E both now sold-out).

And the Series climax against Australia, on Saturday, November 20, (17:30hrs), promises to provide a celebratory finale to a month which will see hundreds of thousands of supporters return to live sport at Principality Stadium, in person.

The Wallabies have drawn an average crowd of 60,000-plus fans over their last three outings in Wales (2019, 2018 and 2016), with the 64,000 who witnessed a famous Welsh win in ’19 on course to be replicated this year.

“We have made half-price concessionary tickets for under 17s available across all categories for all four matches for the first time,” said a WRU ticket office spokesperson.

“This has appealed to a younger audience and more families as well as our normal event goers and rugby aficionados.

“This will partly account for the high demand for tickets across all four matches, but we are incredibly pleased with the response from Welsh supporters.

“Nobody knew what to expect after the year and a half we have all had, but we are delighted to be able to say that the appetite for Welsh rugby, and of course the All Blacks, is as strong as it has ever been.

“We are all looking forward to a month of celebration at Principality Stadium and we are ready to welcome supporters back safely and securely.

“New challenges will be presented and we will follow Welsh Government and Public Health Wales advice closely ensuring all of the appropriate safety precautions are in place.

“We will worry about these elements so supporters don’t have to and, of course, we have a full refund policy in place so fans can be safe in the knowledge that their money is safe if personal or national circumstances change due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.”

The stadium will be operating staggered entry time. Tickets holders will be alerted to their required entry time and gate number on their ticket closer to game.

Supporters who have successfully purchased tickets are encouraged to download the Principality Stadium ticketing app to be able to receive their digital tickets for the autumn fixtures

Digital tickets are available from wru.wales/tickets with prices now ranging from £20 to £35 for Fiji (£10 to £17.50 at concessionary rates) and from £45 to £75 for both the Springboks and Wallabies matches (£22.50 to £37.50 at concessionary rates), with the two categories of tickets at the lowest prices having  sold-out for all three of these games.
