PENLAN were crowned champions of the inaugural season of the West Wales Premier League on Tuesday night (Apr 12).

They secured a 2-0 win away at Giants Grave and they cannot now be caught by second placed Mumbles Rangers.

A goal in each half from Luke Edwards (22 mins) and Darren Rowe (79 mins) proved enough to give them the victory they needed to seal the title.

It has been an excellent season for Penlan who have won fifteen of their seventeen games so far, drawing the other two.

They will now seek to make it a whole season without defeat with three games left to play in the league.

Penlan manager Kevin Crabb posted on his Twitter page: “Couldn’t be more prouder of my group of players at Penlan, to win this league is an achievement in itself but to win it undefeated is something else.”

Their next league game comes on Tuesday, April 19, when they host bottom side CK Swiss Valley.

They then have further games to come against Evans and Williams and Dafen.

Before those games though they play in the semi-final of the West Wales Premier League Cup on Saturday, April 16, against Mumbles Rangers.
