As we near December and the winter break – it’s time to take a look at the Fantasy Premier League XI/squad with the most points so far this season. Of course, you wont be able to fit all these players in or afford them (mainly because it’s mostly Liverpool) – but it’s a good indicator to compare your current team with if your looking for a change up!
Goalkeepers
Mendy – Chelsea – £6.1m – 63 points
Alisson – Liverpool – £6m – 58 points
There’s no real surprise that Mendy tops the goalkeepers list, seeing as Chelsea sit top of the league with only 5 goals conceded all season. Allison sits second with 58, and with one of the best back 4’s in the league – its no surprise either
Defenders
Alexander-Arnold – Liverpool – £7.9m – 88 points
Cancelo – Man City – £6.7m – 80 points
James – Chelsea – £6.3m – 76 points
van Dijk – Liverpool – £6.6m – 70 points
Rudiger – Chelsea – £6m – 69 points
Back to normal again, as Trent tops the list of defenders so far. It’s not just clean sheet points he picks up points for though, the full back is constantly pushing up that right flank putting balls into the box gaining assist points nearly every week – he scores a few himself too. The remainder of the list is made up of players from the other teams in the top 3 – with Cancelo of Man City taking second followed eagerly by Reece James of Chelsea
Midfielders
Salah – Liverpool – £13m – 131 points
Mane – Liverpool – £12m – 74 points
Gallagher – Crystal Palace – £6.1m – 69 points
Jota – Liverpool – £7.7m – 68 points
Smith Rowe – Arsenal – £6m – 62 points
Another Liverpool man tops the list here in the midfielders section, but it’s Mo Salah and the man is on a different level – and has proven it again this season with 131 points before December through 11 goals and 8 assists, top of both categories in the league. That’s over 50 points ahead of Mane who sits in second. A fresh face in Connor Gallagher takes up third and has impressed for Palace so far, with 4 goals 3 assists himself.
Forwards
Vardy – Leicester City – £10.6m – 74 points
Antonio – West Ham – £8.1m – 65 points
Dennis – Watford – £5.3m – 64 points
Jamie Vardy is still keeping the league on it’s toes, and age is clearly nothing but a number for the Leicester striker. He has scored 9 times in the league already at 34 years old – racking up 74 points. Antonio started the league in fine form with 5 goals in 5, but has fallen off the radar since – despite West Ham still being a a huge force. Dennis for Watford has come into form lately too as he begins to get used to life under Ranieri – he has 64 points.
Recommendation
Although you won’t fit all of these players in, hopefully you can take a few of them and slot them into your team if you haven’t got them already – especially with a few of the un-droppable options like Salah. Gallagher faces Leeds next, and with Eze back from injury as well as Zaha on the pitch – he’s a recommendation from me that will be in my starting XI.
