THREE OUTSTANDING Carmarthenshire organisations have been shortlisted for the newly introduced “Care 24” award at this year’s Carmarthenshire Care Awards.
The awards, taking place on November 22, celebrate the commitment and hard work of care professionals across Carmarthenshire, from social care to child care, disability care to residential care.
The Care 24 award, introduced for the first time this year, recognises organisations that have gone above and beyond to enhance their skills and improve the quality of care for the community.
This year’s shortlisted organisations are:
- Carers Trust Crossroads West Wales: A network partner of the Carers Trust, this organisation provides practical and emotional support to carers, giving them crucial respite time and offering free, confidential guidance across Carmarthen, Llanelli, and Ceredigion.
- PLANED: Through its “Catalysts for Care” project, PLANED supports aspiring care entrepreneurs in establishing their own care enterprises, fostering a wider range of flexible, community-based support options in Carmarthenshire.
- Catre Ltd.: Dedicated to those with learning disabilities and mental health needs, Catre Ltd. offers residential care that emphasises community and positive interaction, challenging the perception that residential care is a “last resort.”
Tim Gill, Care 24 Co-ordinator said: “Carmarthenshire is home to some of the most dedicated care professionals who continuously strive to improve their skills. These organisations exemplify the commitment, innovation, and compassion that the Care 24 award celebrates. We’re thrilled to recognise their efforts in providing top-tier care.”
Developed by Coleg Sir Gar, the Care 24 programme aims to strengthen the care sector in Carmarthenshire by supporting the improvement of skills and knowledge for individuals across the county.
The winner of the Care 24 award will be announced at the Carmarthenshire Care Awards ceremony on November 22.
