A CARMARTHENSHIRE man has been sentenced after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in the town.
Warren Griffiths, 58, of Gwynfryn, Ammanford, appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (March 5) after being convicted of sexual assault on a female.
The court heard that on June 10, 2023, Griffiths intentionally touched a woman in a sexual manner without her consent while on Wind Street, Ammanford. He was found guilty of the offence on February 19, 2025.
Magistrates imposed a community order lasting until February 4, 2026, requiring Griffiths to undertake up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity under the supervision of Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.
Griffiths was also ordered to pay £500 in compensation to the victim, a £180 fine, £650 in prosecution costs, and a £114 victim surcharge. A collection order was granted, with payments to be deducted from his benefits.
The court heard a victim personal statement, which was read out by the prosecutor.
The case was heard by magistrates Miss J Phillips, Mr N Samuel, and Mr J Lynch, with Sian Vaughan prosecuting.
