CARMARTHENSHIRE Council is on the hunt for social workers and is hoping to entice them with the quality of life on offer in the county.
It has around 200 social worker posts and 17 vacancies. Council chiefs have launched a “love were you live and work” campaign promoting Carmarthenshire’s scenery, options for days out, and what they described as its family-friendly atmosphere.
The starting salary for a newly-qualified social worker in Carmarthenshire is £36,648, rising up £44,428 depending on experience.
Cllr Jane Tremlett, cabinet member for health and social services, said: “We have a proud tradition of growing our own social workers here in Carmarthenshire, but alongside this we are seeking experienced social workers to join our teams and help make a difference to the lives of children and adults.
“With well-supported teams and a good work-life balance, I would encourage anyone interested in learning more to sign up to one of our online information sessions where they can learn more.”
The online sessions take place over several evenings between September 11 and October 17.
