Fire destroys Talley property

FIREFIGHTERS from across the region tackled a severe house fire in Talley on Wednesday (Dec 4). The alarm was raised at 3:05pm, prompting a swift response from crews in Lampeter, Ammanford, Amman Valley, Morriston, and Port Talbot.

The blaze engulfed a two-storey, semi-detached property, requiring an extensive operation to bring it under control. Firefighters deployed three hose reel jets, three standard jets, six breathing apparatus sets, and thermal imaging cameras. Specialist equipment, including a turntable ladder and a water bowser, was also used, with a shuttle system ensuring a steady water supply throughout the operation. The crews worked tirelessly, concluding their efforts by 8:25pm.

Although the property suffered significant damage, the swift and coordinated response of the fire crews prevented the flames from spreading to the adjoining home, saving it from destruction.

This incident highlights the importance of fire safety. Taking simple precautions at home can reduce risks and help households respond effectively in emergencies.
