LAMPETER moved up to second place in League 3 West A on Saturday (Oct 8) as they scored nine tries in their win over Pembroke Dock Quins.

The Quins hit back with a try from Centre Gethin Bradney who flew over the line after running on to a perfectly weighted chip from Centre Ben Hathaway for an unconverted try.

Five minutes later a try looked on for the Quins, but the ball was intercepted and Meirion Lloyd  raced away for his second try and his sides’ third, Osian Jones Converted to push the visitors lead to 5-17.

Merion Lloyd soon completed his hat trick with another unconverted try, and then with the last move of the half, Flanker Sean Lewis touched down near the posts for a try converted by Osian Jones to send his side in 5-29 to the good at the break.

The visitors started the second half much as they did the first with two tries in the opening 10 minutes through Right Wing Idris Lloyd and Centre Rhys Jones, the latter being converted by Osian Jones.

Lampeter’s Outside Half soon got himself over the whitewash for a try he converted himself to put his side 5-48 up.

The Quins did hit back with a fine try from Gethin Bradney for his eighth touchdown of the season, Ben Hathaway converted with ease.

The visitors had the last say though when Meirion Lloyd grabbed his fourth try which Osian Jones converted to complete the scoring, giving Lampeter a 12-55 win.
