West Wales Cup round up

THE West Wales Cup returned on Saturday, October 8, and there were a number of exciting games.

St Thomas Stars booked their place in the second round with a 4-3 shootout win over Solva.

The Stars had raced into a 3-0 lead but Solva hit back to make it 3-2 at half time and they then took the lead with twenty minutes to go.

The visitors then levelled to make it 4-4 on 90 minutes to force the game into extra time.

They then went ahead but a late goal by Solva’s Joe Harding forced the game into a shootout. The Stars held their nerve to seal the win.

Resolven are also through after they beat Fishguard 2-1. Iwan Lilley gave Fishguard the lead but the home side equalised on the stroke of half time and then took the lead a minute into the second half.
