Fishguard man admits making over 1,000 indecent images of a child

A 19-year-old Fishguard man has been sent to Swansea Crown Court for sentencing after admitting making 84 images of a child in the most serious Category A category.

Dylan Tayler, of Penbanc, Fishguard, pleaded guilty to two additional charges of making 107 category B images of a child, and of making 832 category C images of a child.

The three offences took place between February 6 and June 12, 2022.

Tayler appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates today (Tuesday), when he pleaded guilty to all three charges.

Following a request from Crown Prosecutor Kelly Rivers concerning the ‘serious nature’ of the 84 category A images, magistrates declined jurisdiction in the matter.

Sentencing will now take place at Swansea Crown Court on May 2.

Tayler was released on conditional bail, the conditions being that he doesn’t have any unsupervised contact with a child under the age of 18 and that he doesn’t sleep overnight at any premises where there is a child, or children, under the age of 18.

Magistrates also requested that a pre-sentence report be prepared by the probation service prior to Tayler’s sentencing on May 2.
