Former Pembrokeshire sound engineer denies sexual assault on a child

65-year-old Stenson denies the charges

A former Pembrokeshire sound engineer has appeared before Swansea Crown Court facing two charges of sexually assaulting a child between the ages of five and six-years-old.

Gary Blount, 43, is accused of touching the child in a sexual manner between October 6, 2014 and October 6, 2016.

Earlier today (Friday), Blount was brought before Judge Catherine Richards sitting in Swansea Crown Court where he entered not guilty pleas to both charges.

The trial, which is expected to take three days, will commence on June 5 when a Section 28 ground rules hearing will take place.  This will allow any vulnerable witnesses to have their cross-examination video recorded away from the courtroom, prior to the full trial taking place.

The full trial will commence on August 14.

Blount, who formerly worked as a doorman and sound engineer in the Tenby area, was granted stringent bail conditions. The conditions are that he does not have any unsupervised contact with a child under the age of 18 years old, nor contact people who are connected with the case.
