Generous donation to Glangwili Hospital’s Bereavement Midwifery Team

RHYS Munday and Molly Richards have generously donated £800 to the bereavement midwifery team at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen, in a heartfelt tribute to their late son, Kyler Rhys.

Tragically, Kyler Rhys passed away at 29 weeks. The couple’s profound gesture was in appreciation of the exceptional care they received during their heart-wrenching ordeal.

Reliving the traumatic experience, Molly shared: “Our baby boy, Kyler Rhys, was born asleep on the 18th of October 2022 following a challenging pregnancy. We had the comfort of the bereavement room in the hospital, designed especially for families undergoing the same agony we faced.”

She added, “Every single midwife who looked after me transformed our traumatic experience into something as positive as it could possibly be. The compassionate care we received from the midwives and staff was instrumental in helping our family navigate through our loss.”

Molly Taylor, a midwife at Glangwili, expressed her admiration for the couple, saying, “I’m profoundly moved by Molly and Rhys’s gesture and how much they’ve managed to raise in memory of their son. It’s genuinely remarkable.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, expressed her gratitude for the donation, noting that community support greatly enhances services beyond what the NHS alone can offer across the three counties of Hywel Dda.
