A HAVERFORDWEST woman who phoned the police in ‘a visibly upset’ state asking to be taken to Withybush Hospital, quickly changed tactics once they reached A&E.
As soon as they reached the hospital on Saturday, March 18, Sian Davies began shouting abuse at the officers, telling them to ‘**** off’ and describing them as ‘a bunch of c****’.
“The officers attended at her property after she made a call,” Crown Prosecutor Sian Vaughan told Haverfordwest magistrates erlier this week.
“She was clearly intoxicated and visibly upset.
“She asked the officers to take her to hospital but once she got there, her behaviour changed.”
Ms Vaughan said that as well as using unacceptable language in front of the officers Davies, 55, of Harrier Road, Haverfordwest also told them that she hated them.
“Naturally the officers became concerned at her behaviour because of all the people who were waiting for treatment around her at the time,” said Ms Vaughan.
Davies pleaded guilty to a charge of being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
She was represented in court by Mr Tom Lloyd.
“She had consumed alcohol that day and can’t remember anything that took place,” he said.
“She’s very disappointed in herself at what happened, but this was a blip.”
Davies was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.
“I suggest you keep going straight,” commented the presiding magistrate when imposing her sentence, “otherwise you’ll find yourself back here once again.”
