Llangennech go second after beating Pembroke

LLANGENNECH moved into second place in League 1 West on Saturday (Jan 14) as they beat Pembroke 106-10.

Captain Shaun Edwards got the scoreboard going with the game’s first try and Luke Davies added the conversion.

Tom Morgan was next to go over and Davies again added the extras before a Pembroke penalty made it 14-3.

Morgan went over for his second and Joe Williams also went over with both tries being converted by Davies.

A try and conversion for Pembroke then brought the score back to 28-10 but Llangennech continued to put the pressure on.

Tom Barnes, Thomas Davies and Jordan Saunders scored the next three tries with Davies adding two conversions.

Davies then went over for a try of his own which he then converted and Jordan Saunders scored the last try of the half to make it 59-10.

Jordan Saunders then scored the first try of the second half to complete his hat trick and Davies again converted. Thomas Davies added another try and Davies again added the extras.

Louis Rees was next to go over and Davies again converted to make it 80-10.

The home side showed no signs of letting up and replacement Steffan Marshall scored the next try with Davies again adding the extras.

Saunders then went over for his fourth try and Steff Marshall scored his second with Davies converting that one.

Luke Davies then went over for his second try and the game’s final one which he then converted for a personal haul of 36 points.

Llangennech are in action in the second round of the Division 1 Cup on Saturday, January 21, as they travel to Mountain Ash.

Pembroke will look to bounce back when they host Hendy.
