RICKY VALANCE a resident of Croft Avenue, Hakin, appeared before the Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on May 23, 2023 concerning a driving offence.
According to court documents, on February 17, 2023, the defendant was found driving a Peugeot 307 on the A4076 Steynton, Pembrokeshire. It was discovered that the proportion of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, a controlled drug, in the defendant’s blood exceeded the specified limit of 3.
During the hearing, presided over by District Judge Jonathon Mark Layton, the defendant pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
The court took the guilty plea into account when imposing the sentence.
As part of the ruling, the court ordered the defendant to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, along with a surcharge of £160. Additionally, a fine of £400 was imposed.
The court also issued a collection order, specifying that the defendant must make payments as ordered by the given date.
Payment terms were set as monthly instalments, with an amount of £100, starting from June 20, 2023.
