CLARBESTON Road earned their first win of the season on Saturday (Oct 29) as they beat St Ishmaels 10-0.
The Road had only picked up two points from their opening six games and sat bottom of the table but they came up against a Tish side that had not won since the opening day of the season.
Ben John opened the scoring and further goals from Joules Ward (x2), Nial Kinsella (x2) and Josh Wood gave the home side a 6-0 lead at half time.
John scored twice more in the second half to complete his hat trick while Richard Bevan was also on the scoresheet.
MERLINS BRIDGE moved to the top of the table as they beat Fishguard 4-1.
Matthew D’Ivry opened the scoring for the visitors but Fishguard equalised 11 minutes later through Danny Hopkin.
It remained 1-1 until half time and both sides knew the next goal in the game could prove crucial. It was the Wizards who got it as Joe Leahy scored on the hour mark to put his side back ahead.
New signing Sam Christopher then bagged two goals in as many minutes to put the seal on the victory.
GOODWICK UNITED were also victorious as they beat Carew 4-2.
Rhys Dalling netted after just four minutes to give Goodwick the lead and it remained 1-0 until half time. Will Haworth then doubled Goodwick’s lead twenty minutes into the second half and three minutes later they had a third as Johnny Horgan scored.
Dalling then grabbed his second with sixteen minutes to go to all but seal the win.
Carew did not give up though and pulled two goals back late on, firstly through Tom Cole and then through Harvey Drummond with two minutes of the 90 left.
Goodwick saw the game out though to seal their sixth league win in a row.
Kilgetty’s game with Neyland was called off.
On Saturday, November 5, there is one game in Division 1 which sees St Ishmaels hosting Kilgetty, kick off at 2pm.
Other Pembrokeshire sides are involved in action in the West Wales Cup, with those games kicking off at 1:30pm.
