Pembrokeshire League: Division 2 round-up

Action from the game between Monkton Swifts seconds and Johnston

MONKTON SWIFTS Seconds earned their fifth win of the season on Saturday (Oct 29) as they beat Johnston 3-1.

Jack Steele put the Swifts ahead after 33 minutes and goals from Josh Sture and Liam Butland gave them a 3-0 lead at the break.

Josh Knapp pulled a goal back for Johnston with fifteen minutes to go but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback as the Swifts held on for the three points.

Elsewhere, Division 2 leaders Hakin United seconds earned a 4-3 away at Tenby. Goals from Jacob Hipkiss, Scott Ferney and Harri Phillips had put Tenby 3-0 up but Hakin hit back to level before half time.

Hayden Dimond scored two goals in as many minutes before Leon Davies scored two minutes before the break to level the game.

Both sides had chances to go ahead in the second half but it was Hakin who got the seventh goal of the game as Davies scored his second.

The Vikings were able to hold on although both sides finished a man down. Tenby’s Ricki Morgan was shown a red card six minutes from time and three minutes later Hakin’s Ashley Bevan was also shown a red.

Herbrandston sit second in Division 2 after they beat Broad Haven 6-1. Scott Reid opened the scoring for Herbie and Daniel Armstrong added a second before Reid grabbed a second to give his side a 3-0 half time lead.

Craig Beach added Herbie’s fourth in the second half before Tom Arnold and Daniel Evans increased their lead. Jon Brumby-Jones scored a late goal for Broad Haven but it was just a consolation.

Milford United earned an 8-0 win away at Solva with Liam Parkes and Ieuan Hawkins both scoring hat tricks. Liam Parr and Sam Davies scored the other goals as Milford earned their fourth win of the season.

Carew seconds sealed a 7-1 win over Narberth with Charlie Perkins scoring twice. Tom Rudd, George Waters, Sam Harts, Tom Arthur and Tyler Worrall were all on the scoresheet for the home side. Norton Williams grabbed Narberth’s consolation effort.

Merlins Bridge seconds earned a 24-0 win against a spirited Pennar Robins seconds. Lee Carruthers scored seven times and Tom Mezetta added six goals. Rhys Clutterbuck and Kian Lee also scored hat tricks, Josh Thomas scored twice while other goals came from Lewis Thomas, Josh Silk and Rhys Corney.
