Body discovered close to Pembrokeshire beach following extensive missing person search

The body of a man has been discovered in the vicinity of a popular Pembrokeshire beach.

Authorities conducted a search in sections of Saundersfoot beach in Pembrokeshire following reports of a missing individual on the evening of Sunday, September 10.

The discovery of the body occurred during the early morning hours of Monday, September 11th. The search operation was a collaborative effort from various agencies, encompassing the police, coastguards, and the coastguard rescue helicopter.

According to social media updates, posts indicated that the helicopter’s presence, both audible and visible, extended late into the early hours as it hovered over the coastal and woodland areas near Glen Beach, Swallowtree, and Broadfield.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services were tasked to reports of a missing person in the Saundersfoot area, late on Sunday (September 10) night. At around 4am Monday the body of a 43-year-old man was discovered by Coastguard search teams.

“His next of kin have been informed.”
