Clarby hit Pennar for six

CLARBESTON ROAD returned to winning ways on Saturday (Feb 4) as they beat Pennar Robins 6-3 at Bush Camp.

Ben John put the visitors ahead in the fifth minute and he added a second twelve minutes later.

Two minutes after that it was 3-0 as Steffan Williams got his name on the scoresheet.

Ben John then completed his hat trick in the 40th minute but three minutes Pennar gave themselves some hope of a comeback as Phil Thompson scored.

It remained 4-1 at the break but an early second half own goal raised those hopes even further.

The Robins were right back in it in the 58th minute as Thompson scored his second of the game to make it 3-4.

However, just ten minutes later Jake Booth scored to give his side a two-goal cushion.

And just three minutes later the points were all but safe as Charles George added Clarby’s sixth goal of the game.

The win for Clarby sees them close the gap to fifth placed Carew to just one point but they have played more games than those around them.

On Saturday, February 11, Clarbeston Road vist St Ishmaels in league action.

Pennar are in action in the quarter finals of the Senior Cup as they visit local rivals Monkton Swifts.
