CLARBESTON Road earned their sixth win of the season on Saturday (Mar 4) as they beat Neyland 2-1.

Prior to the game a minutes silence was held in respect of former Neyland player Eddie Collins who sadly passed away last week.

With sixteen minutes gone, a half clearance fell to Ben John who struck the ball firmly into the net to make it 1-0 to the home side.

Neyland weathered the Clarby storm and looked to get themselves level again. With half an hour gone, a good cross from Max Bowman-Davies was headed towards goal by Mike Chandler but his effort was blocked.

The visitors then had another chance on the stroke of half time as Bowman-Davies curled an effort from the right hand side of the box but the ball hit the far post and then rebounded onto the other post before being cleared.

It remained 1-0 when the half time whistle went but just a minute into the second half, Clarby made it 2-0.

Rob Morgans was played in through the middle but after his shot was saved by keeper Patrick Hannon the ball fell to Ben John who slotted in.

With 67 minutes gone, Sean Hannon headed the ball across the box to Morgan James who then found Corey Richards who tapped in to bring Neyland back in the game.

They then had shouts for a penalty turned down by referee Stefan Jenkins.

Neyland had the ball in the back of the net again seven minutes later but Sean Hannon’s header was ruled out for offside.
