CRYMYCH maintained their place at the top of League 1 West as they beat Penclawdd 17-25 on Saturday (Jan 7).
Conditions were not great for either side but it was Penclawdd who went ahead with an unconverted try but Crymych levelled soon after with a try of their own.
The Pembrokeshire side then went ahead with a try that was converted and another unconverted try stretched Crymych’s lead to 5-17.
The home side hit back with another try but a penalty from Crymych took the score to 12-20.
Penclawdd then hit back again with another unconverted try to bring themselves to within three points of Crymych, with the score at 17-20.
Crymych had the last word though as they scored their fourth try to earn a bonus point and to seal the win.
Tries for the home side came from Daniel Guarneri, Luke Snell and Rhys Eaton while Marcus Brown added one conversion.
The win for Crymych sets up an exciting top of the table clash with Newcastle Emlyn on Saturday, January 14. Penclawdd are also in action as they host Aberystwyth.
