CRYMYCH maintained their place at the top of League 1 West as they beat Penclawdd 17-25 on Saturday (Jan 7).

Conditions were not great for either side but it was Penclawdd who went ahead with an unconverted try but Crymych levelled soon after with a try of their own.

The Pembrokeshire side then went ahead with a try that was converted and another unconverted try stretched Crymych’s lead to 5-17.

The home side hit back with another try but a penalty from Crymych took the score to 12-20.

Penclawdd then hit back again with another unconverted try to bring themselves to within three points of Crymych, with the score at 17-20.

Crymych had the last word though as they scored their fourth try to earn a bonus point and to seal the win.
