CRYMYCH remain top of League 1 West after they beat Gowerton 12-10 on Saturday (Mar 4).

Crymych scored early on as Macs Page broke into the 22 and beat off the tacklers before offloading to Owain Evans who touched down. The conversion was missed.

Gowerton hit back though with a try that was converted to give the visitors a 5-7 lead. They then extended that lead with a penalty shortly before the break.

Both sides battled away in the second half but it was Crymych who got the next score as Ifan Phillips touched down following a Gowerton mistake.

That brought the scores level and Adam Phillips held his nerve to put Crymych back into the lead with the conversion.

They held on to secure their eleventh win of the season and to remain top of the table.

Gowerton are in action on Thursday, March 9, when they host Whitland in a rearranged game, kick off at 7:15pm.

Crymych are next in action on Saturday, March 25, when they visit Pembroke.
