Division 2: Milford go top and Narberth win again

MILFORD United moved to the top of Division 2 on Saturday (Mar 11) while Narberth earned their fifth win in a row.

Milford United beat Herbrandston 2-1 at Marble Hall. Liam Parr put the home side ahead in the 13th minute from the penalty spot and he doubled the lead with just over half an hour gone.

Herbie battled for a way back in the second half but could not find a way to score until five minute from the end. They were awarded a penalty which Craig Nicholson scored to bring the score back to 2-1.

Milford held on though and they now lead second placed Hakin United seconds by two points but having played a game more.

Narberth are in fine form at the moment and they picked up a 7-1 win on Saturday.

Jordan Williams scored after eight minutes and Jake Thomas scored two minutes later to double the lead. They weren’t done their either as Michael Ryder and Williams scored again to make it 4-0 inside the opening 13 minutes.

Jack Thornton pulled a goal back for Solva four minutes later though but any hopes of a second half comeback were all but erased on the stroke of half time as Ashley Williams added Narberth’s fifth goal of the game.

Liam Phillips and Rhys Thomas scored late second half goals to complete the win for the home side.

On Saturday, March 18, Milford will look to keep hold of top spot when they travel to Pennar Robins seconds while Narberth host Johnston.
