Division 2: Wins for Hook, Carew II and Kilgetty

THERE were wins for Hook, Carew seconds and Kilgetty on Saturday (May 20) as the action in Division 2 continued.

Hook sit in third place in the table after they beat Llanrhian by 96 runs. Hook scored 208-8 in their innings with Dafydd Bowen scored 53.

Aled Phelps added 35 and there were also scores of 30 from Harry Makepeace and 29 from Jack Phillips.

Llanrhian’s Gwynant Watson took 4-54 and Jack Jones had 2-50. Llion Williams also claimed a wicket to finish with figures of 1-24.

In reply, Paul Lewis scored 34 and Joe Crellin added 24 but that was as good as it got for Llanrhian as they were bowled out for 112.

Bradley Flood was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with outstanding figures of 6-29. Liam Miller also chipped in with 2-35.

Carew seconds earned a ten-wicket win against Cresselly seconds. Cresselly were bowled out for 151 with Matthew Lewis scoring 53. Morgan Lewis added 29 and Julian Arthur made a score of 21.

Ethan Hall took 4-26 for Carew, Barry Evans had 2-35 and Joel Rhead had 2-25.

In reply, Ian Sefton and Nic Scourfield were untroubled as they saw Carew seconds to victory. Sefton was unbeaten on 61 while Scourfield finished on 55.

Kilgetty earned their second win of the season as they beat Llechryd by eight wickets.

Llechryd were bowled out for 194 with David Dunfee scoring 61 and Johnnie Lewis added 46. Ben Evans finished with figures of 5-58 while Richard Cope had 2-24. Anthony Bevan also finished with figures of 2-40.

In reply, Dunfee took two wickets for 28 runs but they were unable to stop Kilgetty’s victory charge.

Jack Parkinson had fallen for 33 but Evans finished unbeaten on 62 and Cope finished not out on 68 to see their side over the line.
