FAW Trophy: Hakin United beat Trostre

HAKIN United’s FAW Trophy journey continued on Saturday (Nov 5) as they beat Trostre 4-0 to book their place in the fourth round.

Trostre went in to the game with an unbeaten record but they had only played once in October and had two weeks without a game prior to Saturday.

Hakin have lost just once all season, against title rivals Goodwick, but they did not want their FAW Trophy journey to end just yet.

Leon Luby put the Vikings ahead in the 18th minute, off an assist from Adam John.

It remained 1-0 until the break and Trostre still had hopes of turning the games around.

However, early in the second half it was Hakin who grabbed the second goal through Jake Merry. With ten minutes to go Nicky Woodrow made it 3-0 to all but seal the win for the visitors.

There is more Cup action for the Vikings this weekend as they host Holywell in the JD Welsh Cup, kick off 2pm.
